How Annmaya is run
How Annmaya is run
Annmaya Foundation is a small organisation, and it is run like one. The people who take your donation are the people who buy the food, cook it, serve it, and photograph it. There is no fundraising agency between you and the meal, nobody is paid a commission for bringing a donation in, and no part of what you give is passed to a third party for raising it.
This page is where we put the things you would have to ask us for otherwise: how decisions are made, what we publish, what we deliberately do not publish, and how to check any of it.
What gets decided, and how
Every package on this site is written down before it is published: what it contains, what it costs, who it is served to, and what a donor should expect afterwards. It is then reviewed by a second person against that written description, and only a reviewed version becomes visible. The same rule covers every policy, every page and every photograph on this site. Nothing reaches a public page without a recorded review, and the record of who reviewed it and when is kept rather than discarded.
Prices are not adjusted after the fact. The amount shown against a package is the amount charged, in Indian rupees, with nothing added at the payment step, no processing fee passed on to you, and no shipping or handling charge of any kind — because nothing is shipped to you.
If a package changes — a different quantity, a different price, a different description — it is re-authored and reviewed again rather than edited quietly in place. A gift you have already made is governed by the description that was published when you made it.
What we publish, and what we hold back
We publish what we can evidence. Where a statement would need a number, a document or a credential behind it, and we do not yet hold an approved version of that document, we leave the statement out rather than estimate it.
That is why you will not find a beneficiary count, a percentage of spend, an audited financial figure, a registration number or a tax-exemption claim anywhere on this site today. It is not that those things do not matter. It is that a figure nobody can check is indistinguishable from one that was invented, and we would rather publish nothing than publish something you have no way to test.
Each of those is published on this page as soon as an approved version exists, in this same ledger, beside the source you can open to check it. In the meantime, anything you want to see that is not here, you are welcome to ask us for directly, and we will tell you honestly whether we hold it.
How the money moves
A donation is taken by a payment gateway licensed to operate in India. You enter your payment details on the gateway, not on this site: we never see or store your card number, your card verification value, your bank credentials, your payment PIN or a one-time password. What comes back to us is the outcome, the amount, and the gateway’s own reference for it.
The money reaches the foundation’s own account and is spent on the cause you chose. Donated funds are not lent, invested or pledged against anything. Where we cannot carry out the distribution a package describes, we offer you the choice between a refund and moving the gift to another cause, and we do not move it without asking you first.
The records we keep
- Every donation carries a reference you can quote back to us, and we can answer a question about it from the record rather than from memory.
- Every administrative action taken on a donor record is written to an audit trail that the person taking the action cannot edit.
- Every photograph published from a distribution has a recorded consent and a recorded dignity, accuracy and risk review behind it, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Financial and donation records are kept for as long as Indian law requires a charitable organisation to keep them, and the personal detail in them is reduced to what the law requires once it is no longer needed.
