Donation, cancellation and refund policy
This policy explains how Annmaya Foundation takes a donation, what happens after you give, and how we handle a cancellation or a refund. It is written to be used: if something has gone wrong with a gift you have already made, the section on asking for a refund tells you exactly what to send us.
Amounts and currency
Every amount on this site is in Indian rupees. The price of a package, the quantity you choose, and the total are all shown before you pay, and there is no processing charge, service charge, or convenience charge added on top. What the site shows you is what is taken.
How a donation is processed
- You choose a cause or a package, and a quantity.
- The site shows you the cause, what the package provides, the quantity, and the total.
- You give us your name and email address, and your mobile number if you wish, so that we can confirm the gift and reach you about it.
- You are handed to a licensed payment gateway, where you pay. We never see your card or bank credentials.
- The gateway tells us the outcome. On success we record the donation against the cause you chose and send you a confirmation by email.
- We carry out the distribution the package describes, and the photographs from it come back to you.
A donation is complete only when the gateway confirms the payment to us. Until then nothing is recorded and no distribution is scheduled.
What you receive
- An email confirming the amount, the cause, and a reference you can quote to us.
- A record of the gift in your account, if you have one.
- Photographs from the distribution your gift funded, once it has been served and the photographs have passed our review.
- A receipt, where one is available for the gift you made. We do not promise that any receipt will carry a particular tax benefit.
What is delivered, and when
Nothing physical is shipped or couriered to you. This site takes donations, not orders: there is no product to post, we do not ask for a delivery address, and there are no shipping, handling, or courier charges of any kind.
- What your gift buys is bought, prepared, and served by us to the people the cause describes, at our own distribution.
- Where you have asked for a particular date, we serve it on that date wherever we can, and tell you if we cannot.
- Where you have not asked for a date, it is served at the next distribution scheduled for that cause.
- Once it has been served, we email you the confirmation and the photographs from it, after they have passed our review.
- If you have not heard from us and want to know where your gift stands, write to us with your reference and we will tell you.
Donations are voluntary and generally final
A donation is a voluntary contribution, not a purchase, and no goods or services are supplied in exchange for it. Once a payment has succeeded, the funds are committed to the charitable work described, and food is often bought and cooked within a short time of the gift. For that reason a completed donation is generally not refundable and cannot be cancelled on request.
We would rather you gave the amount you meant to give than gave more and asked for it back, so please check the amount on the review step before you pay.
When we will refund
We will look at a refund in each of the following situations, and we will not hide behind this policy where the mistake is ours:
- You were charged more than once for the same gift. We refund the duplicate charges in full.
- You were charged an amount different from the amount the site showed you. We refund the difference, or the whole amount if you prefer.
- A technical fault on our side or the gateway’s took a payment that should not have been taken, or took one for a gift that was never recorded.
- You made the donation by genuine mistake — the wrong cause, the wrong quantity, or a slip in the amount — and you tell us promptly.
- The donation was made without your authorisation, and you tell us so.
- We are unable to carry out the distribution the package describes and cannot agree an alternative with you.
Where a donation cannot be carried out as described, we will always offer you the choice between a refund and moving the gift to another cause. We will not move it without asking you.
Asking for a refund
Write to annmayafoundation@gmail.com with "Refund request" in the subject line, or call or message +918004783575. Please tell us:
- The name and email address you gave when donating.
- The date of the donation and the amount.
- The reference from your confirmation email, or the payment reference from your bank or card statement.
- What went wrong, in your own words.
Please raise a request within seven days of the donation. We will still look at a later request, and we will still fix a duplicate or an incorrect charge whenever you find it, but a distribution that has already been served cannot be undone.
We acknowledge every request within three working days and tell you our decision, with the reason for it, within seven working days of having everything we need from you. If we decline, we say why, and you can ask us to look again.
How a refund is made
- A refund goes back to the same payment method you paid with. We cannot send it anywhere else, and we will never ask you for your card number, your PIN, or a one-time password in order to process one.
- We instruct the refund through the payment gateway once it is approved. The gateway and your bank or card issuer then decide how long the money takes to appear, and that part is outside our control. It is commonly five to ten working days after we instruct it.
- A refund is made in Indian rupees for the amount received. Any charge your own bank or card issuer applies, and any effect of a currency conversion on a card issued outside India, is a matter between you and them.
- Where a receipt has been issued for a donation that is later refunded, that receipt ceases to be valid and must not be used.
Payments that fail or stay pending
If a payment fails, no donation is recorded and nothing is owed by you. If your bank shows an amount debited but the site did not confirm the gift, the money is usually held by the gateway and reversed automatically, commonly within five to seven working days. Please do not pay again to compensate: write to us with the payment reference and we will trace it and confirm what happened.
Cancelling before you pay
You can change or empty your basket, or leave the payment step, at any point before you pay, and nothing is charged and nothing is recorded. Closing the payment window is not a donation.
Recurring donations
This site takes one-time donations. It does not set up any recurring or automatic payment, so there is no subscription to cancel and nothing will be taken from you again unless you come back and give again. If you ever see a repeat charge you did not make, tell us immediately and we will refund it.
Occasion and memorial gifts
For a gift tied to an occasion or a date, we will do our best to serve it on the date you asked for. Where a date cannot be met — because of a local restriction, a supply problem, or something outside our control — we will tell you and agree another date with you. A change of date is not a failure to carry out the gift, and does not on its own create a refund; if you would rather have the money back in that situation, ask us and we will consider it under this policy.
Anonymous gifts
If you ask for a gift to be anonymous, your name is not shown publicly. We still hold your details privately, because a donation record, a receipt and a refund all need them.
Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please come to us first. A chargeback raised with your bank takes weeks, costs the foundation money that would otherwise have bought food, and we can usually resolve the same problem in days. Where a chargeback is raised, we will co-operate with your bank and provide the record of the donation.
Tax
Whether a donation attracts any tax benefit depends on your own circumstances and on the registrations in force at the time of the gift. We do not guarantee any deduction, exemption, or eligibility, and nothing on this site is tax or legal advice. Please confirm your position with a qualified professional, and ask us before you give if the answer would change your decision.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy. The version on this page, with the date shown above it, applies to any donation made after that date. A donation you have already made is governed by the version in force when you made it, so a change can never take away a right you already had.
