Access for everyone, and how to flag a barrier.

Annmaya Foundation wants every person who wants to give to be able to give, whatever device they use and however they use it. This statement says what we aim for, what we have built, what we know is not yet good enough, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

What we aim for

We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, at level AA. That is a target we design and review against, not a certificate: full conformance can only be confirmed by testing with assistive technology and by expert review, and we say plainly below where we have not done that yet.

What the site does today

• Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, in a visible and logical order, with a skip link to the main content and a clearly visible focus indicator.
• Headings, landmarks, lists and labels are used for their real meaning, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure rather than by guesswork.
• Every form field has a label that stays visible, and an error is announced in words next to the field it belongs to rather than by colour alone.
• Text and interactive elements are checked against the contrast ratios the guidelines require, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
• Every meaningful image carries a text alternative, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers rather than described.
• Text can be enlarged in the browser, and the layout reflows down to a small phone screen without a horizontal scroll and without content being cut off.
• Motion respects your system setting: if you have asked your device to reduce motion, the carousel and the animations stop.
• Touch targets are sized for a finger, and the site works at the phone width most of our visitors use.
• Amounts are stated in full, in Indian rupees, so nothing important is carried by an abbreviation alone.

Where we know we fall short

We would rather list these than let you find them:

• We have not completed testing with screen readers and other assistive technology on real devices, so there will be places where the experience is worse than our own checks suggest.
• We have not had an independent accessibility audit.
• Some third-party components, including the payment step, are outside our control, and their accessibility is set by the provider rather than by us.
• The site is in English only at present, which is itself a barrier for many people in India. Reaching us by phone or message is available in the meantime.
• Documents we publish for download may not all be tagged for screen readers.

Telling us about a barrier

If a page, a control, an image, or a document gets in your way, please tell us. Write to annmayafoundation@gmail.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line, or call or message +918004783575. It helps us if you can say which page you were on, what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and what device, browser or assistive technology you were using. If you cannot tell us all of that, tell us what you can and we will work with it.

We aim to acknowledge you within three working days and to tell you what we are going to do about it. Where a fix will take time, we will say so and give you another way to do the thing you were trying to do.

We review this statement whenever we change the site materially, and we update the list of shortcomings as we close them and as we find new ones. The date above is when the version you are reading took effect.
